COMING EVENTS

Wednesday – 6:30 P.M. – Prayer Meeting on Zoom

Would you like an opportunity to serve your brothers and sisters at First Baptist Church, and the citizens of New Holland? Our well-kept lawn and gardens are no accident, and this labor of love has been largely orchestrated by George and Linda Dippner. Again, this year, help is needed in mowing our grass and tending our gardens. If you can help, please see George Dippner today! Thanks!

Also, we have an immediate need for one of our members to assume the role of treasurer. After many years, Jerry and Donna Word desire to step down in June. Please see George Dippner or Brad Eaton if you think you might be able to help.

PSALM 62:1-8

1 My soul waits in silence for God alone; From Him comes my salvation. 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I will not be greatly shaken. 3 How long will you attack a man, That you may murder him, all of you,

Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence? 4 They have planned only to thrust him down from his high position; They delight in falsehood; They bless with their mouth,

But inwardly they curse. Selah 5 My soul, wait in silence for God alone, For my hope is from Him. 6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, My refuge; I will not be shaken. 7 My salvation and my glory rest on God; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. 8 Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your hearts before Him; God is a refuge for us. QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

  • Vss. 3-5 – What “noisy” voices in your life keep you from waiting quietly on God alone?
  • In this whole passage, how do the specific things said about God encourage you to trust (i.e. rock, refuge, etc.)?
  • Vs. 5-8 – What connections do you make between total trust, total surrender, and total peace?
