PSALM 62:1-8 (NASB) – TRUST

AN ASSURED TRUST – Vss. 1-2, 6-7

  • “A man’s will should be an echo, not a voice; the echo of God, not the voice of self.” Alexander MacLaren
  • 1 Corinthians 6:20 – God owns me, the price that was paid was blood of His Son. Because He loves me, He was wants me to trust Him. Romans 8:28

A QUIET TRUST – Vss. 1, 5 – To wait silently is not to be speechless or without action. It is to wait without anxiety, knowing that God will bring about His will in His good time. Philippians 4:6-7, Hebrews 11:6

AN EXCLUSIVE TRUST – Vss. 1, 5 – We try to trust God and then seek the approval of others, expecting others to do what we want. We look for others to change, without trusting God alone to change them. We look to other people, money, government, jobs to fill our need when we must trust God alone. Proverbs 3:5-6, Zechariah 4:6, John 15:4,5,7

A JUSTIFIED TRUST – Vss. 1-2, 5-7

God is:

  • My salvation – Deliverance, starts with salvation of my soul – Romans 5:1, 6-9
  • My rock – Solid, Dependable, large
  • My stronghold
  • My refuge
  • My glory -

A NEEDED TRUST – Vss. 3-4 – 1 Peter 5:8, Spiritual warfare, our greatest enemies are within, Ephesians 6:12 - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

AN ADVISED TRUST – Vss. 5, 8

  • He Advised Himself – Vs. 5 – Scripture essential. Joshua 1:8, Spirit Control Essential.
  • He Advised Others – Vs. 8
