Review: 1 Peter 1:1-12 shows that we are “a work in progress!”
Vs. 13 – FOCUS - Therefore gird up the loins of your mind,
Matthew 15:19, Ephesians 6:14, John 17:17, Psalm 119:11, Philippians 4:8
be sober, - 1 John 4:15-17, Ephesians 5:15-18
FAITH - and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Romans 8:23, 1 John 3:2-3
FAITHFULNESS 1 Peter 1:14-16 (NKJV) - as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."
Vs. 14 – This actually means “children of obedience”.
Vss. 15-16 – Luke 6:40
Vs 17 – FEAR – 1 Peter 1:17 (NKJV) - And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear;
Reverence or respect for someone dictates behavior.
