BELIEVER’S BAPTISM – TESTIMONY OF UNITY

Romans 6:1-11

Let me state the obvious. This is a Baptist Church.
Let me state our priorities. We are born again Christians first and Baptists second. One does need to be a Baptist to go to Heaven, and being a Baptist does not guarantee admission to Heaven. Jesus said, “You must be born again!”
Romans 5:6-9, 5:1, 5:17-21
Let me state something about Baptism. If you are a born again Christian, you have already been baptized into the body of Christ by the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 12:13, Romans 8:9
Let me answer an obvious question. Why should I be baptized if I have already been baptized by the Spirit?

Christ was baptized, I should follow His example. Matthew 3:12-17
Jesus commanded that new believers be baptized. If I love Jesus, nothing should stop me from wanting to obey Jesus! Matthew 28:19-20
It is my visible testimony that I am a Christ-follower.

Let’s answer another question from Romans 6:1-11. What is the symbolism of Baptism?
To begin with, it is my testimony to the world at that because of my faith in Christ, I am united with Him.

WE ARE UNITED WITH CHRIST IN HIS RESURRECTION – Vss. 4-5

WE ARE UNITED WITH CHRIST IN HIS FREEDOM – Vss. 6-11
