- DILIGENCE REQUIRES DEVOTION
- What moves you to be diligent as a Christian should be your appreciation for, and devotion to Christ. Isaiah 53:3-6
- Love for Christ should make you diligent.
Galatians 2:20, 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
- Jesus requires devotion of those who claim to love Him. Matthew 10:37-38, Mark 12:30
- DILIGENCE REQUIRES DEPENDENCE
- If we can’t save ourselves, what makes us think that we can be diligent in our own power.
- What I do with my own self-effort will not have good results. John 15:5 – “…for without me you can do nothing.” We have the resources:
- The resource of the Word of God. Joshua 1:8
- The resource of the control or filling of the Holy Spirit. John 14:16-18, Acts 1:8, Galatians 5:14
- We have the resource of prayer. John 14:12-14, John 5:14-15
- The resource of Christ’s authority. Colossians 3:17,
- DILIGENCE REQUIRES DETERMINATION
- Paul’s Example – Philippians 3:10-15
- DILIGENCE INVOLVES DELIGHT
- Victory over sin
- Answered prayer
- Fruit of the Spirit (Including joy)
- Fellowship with other believers
- Rewards – 2 Timothy 4:6-8
