PSALM 139:1-14 – THE AWESOME PRESENCE OF GOD
Awe – “a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder.”
1 Chronicles 29:11 (NKJV) - Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all.
Hebrews 12:28–29 (NASB 2020)
28Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let’s show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe;
29for our God is a consuming fire.
Malachi 2:5 (ESV) - My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him. It was a covenant of fear, and he feared me. He stood in awe of my name.
